2009 CATEGORIES

The Native-E Music Awards® does not wish to discourage artists with creative abilities and vision who express their art in other genres of music not listed here. For that reason, we have created the "Creative Vision" category for all other genres not listed below. Your feedback and interest will help us add more categories each year for other genres. We do not wish to do any artist the injustice by placing them into a category in which they do not fit.

Future categories will be added as our talent base continues to grow and diversify. Categories have been chosen by research conducted throughout Native America and Canada with a significant percentage of eligible artists in these genres to constitute and support each category.

The Native-E Music Awards® reserves the right to exclude any category if the category does not receive at least 5 entries. In this case, the artist will have the opportunity to submit to another category or receive a full refund for each song submitted into any excluded category.

SUBMISSION POLICY & PROCEDURES
What song/video/CD/DVD entries are eligible for submission?

Any single song or video from any time period that has not been commercially released by a major mainstream music company and has not achieved or exceeded a status of "Gold" by the RIAA, is eligible for submission into the Native-E Music Awards®. The purpose of this open strategy is to uncover the best past and present musical talent and create opportunities for that talent to be seen and heard by mainstream professionals.

There is a limit of (20) songs and (5) Music Videos, (5) Comedy CDs full-length, (5) DJ Mixtape CDs full-length, (5) Comedy Video/DVD full-length entries per artist/group that may be entered each year, but there is no limit on how many categories each single/multiple entries may be submitted into for nomination consideration. In example, an artist may enter the limit 20 songs, they then have the ability to enter all 20 songs into multiple categories of their choice. This gives the artist/group an exponential increase in the number of submissions they may enter each year.
